VinUniversity students at Woori Bank
In the past 5 weeks, students of VinUniversity’s College of Business and Management had been given the opportunity to intern at Woori Bank’s head office in Vietnam. Divided into 3 teams, instructed by 3 executives in 3 different departments, we experienced the basic working processes of their departments including Digital Banking, Investment Banking and Funding.
After the internship, I gained a deeper understanding of the structure of the business as well as the main business areas of the bank, so that I could visualize in details about which department and position I really fit into. Finance – Banking is an industry with complicated and highly industry-specific knowledge, but we managed to completed the final presentation successfully with whole-hearted support from Woori Bank’s executives.

Moreover, we also got familiarized with Korean working culture. Despite their busy schedule, the Korean leaders all looked friendly and cared about our learning process. In particular, on the last working day, we were invited to a lunch with the General Director to celebrate our short yet truly memorable internship.
The internship at Woori Bank Vietnam has truly been an honor to me. I hope that the strong connection between VinUniversity and Woori Bank will open up more opportunities for VinUniversity students to learn and experience the “real frontline” in the banking industry – a dynamic but also challenging environment.
