As part of the Industry Speaker Series, students from VinUniversity’s College of Business and Management had the opportunity to bring forward questions about the financial sector and macroeconomics to Board of Directors of Mirae Asset Securities (Vietnam). Operating as a wholly Korean-owned company, Mirae Asset Securities (Vietnam) has been in Vietnam for more than 10 years and secured the #1 position in outstanding loans [for securities investment]. Mirae Asset is active in brokerage, equity research, investment banking through business restructuring and M&A advisory and proprietary trading.
Mr. Kang Moon Kyung, CEO of Mirae Asset Securities Vietnam discussed the overall picture of financial sector and that of Vietnam market in particular. As a country with young population coupled with the friendly growing business environment, Vietnam has a tremendously positive development prospect, according to Mr. Kang, and will soon become a destination for multinational companies. Therefore, students should hone necessary skills such as fluency in speaking English, presentation skills and learn how to work effectively in a team to thrive in the globalized business environment.
