A Visit to Pan Pacific Hotel and Thoughts on the Core Values that Shape a Company’s DNA
With an in-person tour and direct sharing from Pan Pacific Hanoi’s Leaders and Operations staff, VinUniversity students were not only able to learn practical hotel management knowledge from experienced staff, but also to understand the core values that shape a company’s “DNA”. This activity was part of the Company Visit program of VinUniversity’s College of Business and Management.
For Pan Pacific, the core value and distinctive brand “DNA” is “trust”: “Before guests can feel satisfied and content, they need to have trust and feel trusted. That is why “trust” is chosen as Pan Pacific’s core corporate culture,” shared Ms. Cindy Mai, Interim HR and L&D Manager at Pan Pacific. In order to provide services in line with the core value of “trust”, Pan Pacific always strives to follow through with their commitments to customers. “We delivered what we promised.”
Through the stories told by the hotel’s managerial staff, such as Head of the Bar and Restaurant, Head of the Technical Division, etc., VinUniversity students were inspired by staff members’ professional ethics and relentless effort to turn challenges into opportunities for self-improvement
“By speaking directly with a 5-star hotel’s managers and head of departments, I was able to learn more about the work and responsibilities of hotel leaders. I was also able to hear about the challenges Covid-19 posed to a large hotel as well as the solutions implemented to mitigate its impact. I think this experience at Pan Pacific is particularly helpful to those pursuing the Hospitality Management degree since it helps inform their choices for summer internship placements and future careers”, said Tran Thao Phuong, freshman of College of Business and Management.
